Jackson County Mass Transit District is a municipal corporation created by the Jackson County Board in 1992 and has been in operation since 2002. JCMTD is a general public mass transportation system that strives to provide safe, efficient and affordable transportation to the general public, including elderly and the disabled, with Deviated Fixed Routes and on a demand-response basis.
JCMTD goal is to embody a new vision of Southern Illinois Mass Transit. A vision of connecting people and constantly improving service to our clients whereby we will integrate, coordinate, plan and build a transit system worthy of its passengers.
