Due to inclement weather JCMTD will be closed on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.
Effective July 1st, 2020, Jackson County Mass Transit District will resume contactless fare collection.

JCMTD will now be servicing Murphysboro to Carbondale on Saturdays from 8 AM to 2 PM. These rides must be scheduled – we do not have scheduled pick up locations on Saturdays. Please call 618-549-0304 to schedule a ride

What We Do
Jackson County Mass Transit District (JCMTD) is a public mass transportation system that strives to provide safe, efficient, and affordable transportation to the general public. Created by the Jackson County Board in 1992, we have been in operation since 2002.
We know Jackson County and getting you to your destination is as important to us as it is to you. Trust is earned and JCMTD strives everyday to gain your trust.

All JCMTD services deviate from specified routes to provide the best service we can to our community. Whether it is door to door or curb to curb, riders can call our dispatch number to reserve a ride to and from their home or other service area locations.

JCMTD is closed on: New Years Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
